With fall approaching and winter right behind it, this is a perfect time of year to make sure your roof is in good condition and ready for inclement weather. In fact, we just published a recent article dedicated to discussing which are the best seasons for roofing, and why: What Is the Best Time of Year to Replace Your Roof in Maryland?
We recently had the opportunity to complete a full roof replacement for a local, Maryland condo association. Specifically, we replaced the roof on their pool house.
Let’s take a closer look!
What Does a Complete Roof Replacement Involve?
As we’ve discussed before, your roof system involves much more than just shingles. It’s a complex system composed of numerous elements that work together to protect your property and maintain efficiency. If one component suffers, all the rest will too.
In this case, we completed the following:
Complete Wood Replacement - This is essential if the underlayment is damaged or rotten, otherwise you’re building on a faulty, compromised foundation
New Skylights - Replacing older skylights with updated, modern models is wise! They have certainly come a long way (find out how right here)
Installed a New Ridge Vent - Ventilation is essential to your structure’s health and efficiency. Rather than simply trap hot air in your attic space, allowing it to leak out through traditionally tiny vents, a ridge vent runs along the length of your roof’s peak. As hot air naturally rises, it finds an easy path of escape through the ridge. The result is a healthier roof, longer-lasting materials, less chance of ice dam formation, and improved efficiency.
